Heatherdene was founded by Keith Matthews in 1982 and remained in the same ownership until May 2001 when Keith died. The Home remains in family ownership, the Registered Proprietor now being Keith's wife Janet Matthews, who is in daily contact with the Registered Manager and staff. The Home has run under management since 1992, the current Registered Manager having been in post since 1996. Services offered and standards of care thus continue at the same excellent standard as those offered prior to Keith's death. Janet has a background in health care and health care teaching and management and is therefore well qualified to carry on the development of the services.
The beautiful Edwardian building is situated on the centre of Eastbourne in a residential road. It is on one level with the town and within east walking distance of all amenities including the station, library, shops, seafront, theatres, cinema and park. |
